These are neat: food-grade steel thingies filled with a substance that melts at 60ºC. When you put them in a hot beverage, the stuff melts, which absorbs heat and cools the drink more quickly. But then when the drink starts to cool below that, the material freezes again and releases energy, which maintains that 60ºC temperature until the subtance in the Joulie has completely frozen.
